PANTOMIME

The Wednesday Group at the Church of Good Shepherd had a group outing to the Pantomime this year it was Treasure Island at the Seccombe centre.  As usual it was a good laugh with the Dame.

HILLCREST HALLS EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

A meeting was called to discuss the additional information we had received and SVCS were there to help point out why they thought changes to the layout where important.  It was thought that the height of the Large Hall was not high enough so we suggested “digging” down, we will ask the Architect his thoughts on this.  Security is an important factor considering that the paint was stolen when we were “cheering” up the present hall.

The plans are being drawn up and users are being asked for their comments which will be passed to the Architect.  Everyone is enthuisastic about this key project for the community.

QUEEN MARY’S PARK MEETING

The committee discussed the proposals for the Park including the new seats and the English Heritage Steps that are in need of repair.  I am arranging for a resident to acccompany the Parks dept on their walk round the site.

CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE SCRUTINY COMMITTEE

I attended the meeting the JAR and the YOT projects were discussed.

SOUTH CARSHALTON DAY CENTRE MEETING

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

I attended the bi-monthly meeting where the centre’s progress is discussed, I am still waiting for confirmation that funding will be found for the continued attendance of the Clockhouse residents

WOODMANSTERNE ROAD CROSSINGS

Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

I attended a meeting at Denmark Road with officers regarding the crossings, report to be written and passed to other Councillors for their input.  There does not seem to be quite enough money this year to proceed with traffic lights.
