STANLEY PARK CHILDRENS’ CENTRE

I attended the opening of this new centre, John, Tim  and myself were part of the planning team.  It was wonderful to see this up and running, well done Rachael and her team.

WALLINGTON OPERATIC SHOW

I attended once again this wonderful show put on by wally op a fish and chip supper was served at the interval.  I was part of the Church of Good Shepherd Wednesday Group we had two tables.

BANDON HILL CEMETERY COMMITTEE

This meeting is two a year, we discuss the finances and upkeep of the cemetery.  The Superintendent and his team do a good job.

CHILDREN & YOUNG PEOPLE SCRUTINY COMMITTEE

I am now a member of this committee we discussed the JAR Report and the YOT report.

FITNESS GROUP

I have joined a fitness group in Cheam, this takes place on a Monday evening, there is also a class on Thursday so the teacher has suggested with my council committments I could attend either, but Monday is the best as I am not too tired after the weekend.

JAMES BOND CHARITY EVENT

I attended this glamorous evening with my friends and my family.  I actually won the “Best Bond Girl” costume,  I don’t think many dressed up!!!  The food was fantastic at The Nightgales restaurant run by students at Carshalton College you should try it!   Attended by various other Borough Mayors.  Several Quizzes during the evening, surprising what we did not know about James Bond, 7 actors in total and 22 films!!

HILLCREST HALLS AGM

Attending with Tim and John, I was asked to present a certificate for life membership to the outgoing Treasurer Alf.  The evening also had a presentation re the proposed new halls.

PILATES CLASSES

I have signed up for a course of 6 weekly classes starting this evening at Westcroft from 6-7 I thought I could fit this in before any meetings.  Tonight I have organised a dinner for 50 so off there afterwards Purley Sports Club.

MEETING WITH EARLY YEARS

On a very stormy day I met with the Hon Secretary of the Hillcrest Halls and the Early Years Co-ordinators to discuss ideas for future use for the new halls.  It was very encouraging, thanks Sheila for travelling on public transport from Clockhouse to Sutton which is not easy.  I thought I would park at Civic and walk up but the car park entry was underwater!! what a day

CIVIC REMEMBERANCE SERVICE

This was held at the Jubilee Gardens in Carshalton a good turnout by Council Officers, Councillors and members of the public.  At least the sun shone even though it was cold.
