COUNCILLOR SURGERIES

Cllr Crowley and myself attended Clock from 10-12, a jumble sale was in operation by the Beeches Park Committee.  Also Halls had bric-a-brac sale.  A resident came to see me about a problem with a drain on their property.  Carshalton Beeches Surgery 13-15.00 hrs.  New building was discussed with resident and also Bye-laws and missing Gordon Road Sign.

CLOCKHOUSE RESIDENTS DAY TRIP TO WORTHING

I and a friend went with the residents, Sutton Community bus driven by a resident.  The weather was not forecasted as being good, but we went anyway, it did not rain until we boarded the bus to come home.  We arrived immediately found a coffee shop, and then did a tour of the Pier and entertainments.  Lunch of course when you are at the coast has to be fish and chips, shopped and shopped a bit more.  I good day out good to do something different.

WEDNESDAY GROUP - AMERICAN SUPPER

I was pleased that I was able to attend as being member of DC committee some Wednesdays’ I cannot be there.  The members brought along food to share, there was plenty; Meats, Flans, salad with some lovely cakes and puddings.  I must admit I declined the puddings, washed down with exotic juices.

WOODMANSTERNE ROAD ADDITIONAL STREET SIGN

During a canvass last year the residents of homes on 65-77 Woodmansterne Road either side of Fullerton Road asked for a sign to show that they were part of Woodmanstern Road as they had many delivery/postal incorrect deliveries.  I am happy to say July 08 the sign is now up see picture.

I lead a team of Cllrs and residents to clear the untidy area of Stanley Park, see pictures attached.

CARSHALTON LAVENDER OPEN DAYS

During the weekend of 12/13 July the Stanley Road allotment site was open with stalls, BBQ, etc. I purchased lavender coloured earrings and of course a lavender plant, met up with Tessa a local artist.

MAYOR’S CHARITY CHAMPAGNE BREAKFAST

This function was well attended by residents and Cllrs Wallace, Wallis, Crowley,Scully and myself.  The breakfast of course included Champagne and strawberries, as I had other functions in the day I declined the champagne.

CLOCKHOUSE RESIDENT ASSOCIATION AGM

Cllr Crowley and myself attended this, it was packed with residents, to hear about the plans for the Halls and of course the £35 charge for garden waste - Dan Jones was there to answer residents questions.

YOUTH GAMES 2008

Once again I attended the Games at Crystal Palace, this year the Watersports had to be held elsewhere as the pool area was not available to use due to refit.  I and my friend managed to get a lift with the Mayor and Mayoress.  I am so pleased that Sutton came 4th this year.  Well done all that took part.
