I attended the school at 1:30pm for a visit with Mr Graham Adams. His deputy showed me around the school and I volunteered to help at their school fete which was on the 16th June.
I was thrilled to be asked to go along to their meeting at the Crusader Hall on the corner of Boundary Road and Stanley Park Road. Sgt Dolan was in attendance as their speaker, which enabled me to catch up with him as well. I was there purely as an observer but was able to help on a few points regarding the relocation of the school.
Spoke to the owner of VW Fix regarding the large amount of camper vans parked in local roads at any one time. He said the owner’s just park them locally so that he can work on them when he has time.
Met with Tim, had a cup of coffee in the cafe, attended the meeting but unfortunately the council representatives weren’t there as they had forgotten to put it in their diaries. We had a good meeting chatting to one of the governors and the head teacher.
I attended a session on the afternoon, see photo attached. As it was the last session when a member of the public was keen on building one for himself said it would be difficult for him to get pallets. I said “may be like the Ideal Home Exhibition they give items away at the end of the day” the organisers heard my remark and said certainly they would give him their exhibition model. He drove away with a big grin on his face.
On the Clockhouse estate in Fryston Avenue a cabinet had been in need of repair for about three years. I managed to contact them to persuade them to repair this which they did.
Met at the Church of Good Shepard. Pat Dolan apologised as it was his mother’s birthday. Pat White chaired the meeting and various matters were discussed, mainly those relating to Clockhouse and how to keep the youths occupied.
