ASD UNIT AT STANLEY PARK HIGH SCHOOL

Attended a presentation by the Education Department (Learning for Life) and the ASD Association to enable us to learn more about the needs of children with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder).

Also visited on the 12th, but each time there were only about 4 residents.

LAST LEG OF THE “LONDON LOOP”

Sunday, March 25th, 2007

Met with the Mayor and Mayoress of Sutton and various councillors plus the Mayor of Croydon at Coulsdon South Station to walk the last leg of the walk to Oaks Park. The Mayor put on a buffer lunch in the lavendar field opposite Oaks park. We were all very glad of the drink at the end of the walk, the last few stiles were quite mountainous.

Attended a presentation at the Holiday Inn and discussed health needs for Sutton, in particular St Helier Hospital.

Guest speak from MERU.  There was a display of specially engineered equipment for disabled people.  I shall contact MERU in due course for a visit.

RADCLIFFE GARDENS INSPECTION

Met with Steve Barnes from Housing and the caretaker Nigel for an inspection.  We visited the 3 blocks of flats, making notes of needed works.  There were several dumped cars that were to be reported to Highways.

QUEEN MARY’S PARK

A local resident had informed me that there was no pedestrian access to the Park from Kenny Drive, see photo. I am asking the council to address this matter. Also I notice graffiti on tree also reported to council see photo.

WOMENS WORLD DAY OF PRAYER

After my weekly swim I went to this Service at the Good Shepherd, I met amongst other the Mayor and Mayoress. The theme was Paraguay it is good to think that all over the world women are in churches are using the same service.

SKILL FOR LIFE AWARDS

Myself, Paul Scully and Eric Howell attended this, it is important that all employees are encouraged to improve their skill. Health Scrutiny followed at 18.30 so I sat and read through papers before meeting in the Conservative room as no time to return home.
