An early morning stroll in Oaks park with John Phillips from the Heritage Dept and The Earl of Derby who attended and planted a Lambert Oak in Oaks Park.  The skies were blue over head and many local residents groups turn up for the planting.

What a wonderful event this was so many community groups brought together.  I helped the Friends of Queen Mary’s Park recruit new members.

CLOCKHOUSE RESIDENTS OUTING TO EASTBOURNE

I enjoyed the outings so much last year I decided to go again this year, unfortunately my friend Janet who accompanied me last year died.

7 residents went this time, obviously as term time not so many people where able to go.

The weather was bright and blustery but Irene and I managed to sit on the beach for a short break from our shopping and lunching!!!

CLOCKHOUSE WALKABOUT & DAY CENTRE

I met with Winston Marshall the SHP Manager and together we inspected the properties, there were numerous corrections that need to be made to properties with new windows and doors.  I then went to lunch at South Carshalton Day Centre with the Clockhouse residents, Karen had prepared a Famous People Quiz, the clients definitely new their People.

 Attended the AGM Bill Wyatt of the Parks Dept gave a presentation.  A vote was taken on the proposed traffic calming systems for the area, no traffic calming was what was requested.

YOUTH OFFENDING TRAINING SESSION

As Part of the Children and Young People Scrutiny Committee I attended the first part of the training that had been proposed.  Many dept are involved in this a lot of information was passed on.  I look forward to next one.

AKASH CHARITY DINNER

I attended the last event which was an Indian Meal, the Committee raised over £36,000 this year, wow terrific effort.

CARSHALTON ROTARY CLUB

Through my contacts I had made with the Rotary Club,  I attended a dinner with the Clockhouse Community Association Chairman  to collect a cheque for £1000 for the refurbishment of the Halls.

SAFER NEIGHBOURHOOD POLICE PARTNERSHIP

Met at Wallington Police Station, priorites still speeding and burgularies.  Car break ins are on the up, police doing undercover work.  Railings in Stanley Park painting completed.
